Promoting Whale shark conservation in Thailand

Contribute to a local and global database

Our mission is to understand and protect the biggest fish in the sea. Using photo ID to assess their movements and populations within Thailand, but we cannot do this alone.
We need you!!
Join our community by sharing your whale shark sightings from within Thai waters.

Our Conservation Movement

Empowering the Community

Founded in 2017, Thai Whale Sharks has been pushing to involve the diving community in an ongoing conservation project. Without this effort we would not be able to succeed as we cannot be at every whale shark sighting. For that reason the Citizen Science approach is more effective and empowers divers and snorkelers to report their sightings to contribute to the ongoing effort without needing a background in marine science. All that is needed is a camera and a few details.
